Andrew Griffith MP, Member of Parliament for Arundel & South Downs welcomed news that the Government is extending the £2 bus fare cap, helping passengers save money on fares while supporting vulnerable bus routes –providing immediate relief for people with the cost of living.
Taking the bus is the most popular form of public transport and many people rely on buses to get them to work or to take their children to school.
Millions of passengers across England will continue to ‘Get Around for £2’ with the government providing £200 million to continue capping single bus fares until the end of October 2023. £300 million has also been confirmed to protect vital routes and improve services until 2025.
The Government remains to committed to ensuring bus travel remains accessible and affordable for everyone to ease cost of living pressures whilst also ensuring we are delivering on our priority to grow the economy.

“The extension of the £2 price cap will be a help for everyone across West Sussex who uses the local buses regularly and will continue encouraging others to take a bus instead of the car, reducing pollution on our roads and improving air quality.
