Andrew Griffith, Member of Parliament for Arundel and the South Downs, has welcomed the new £4.4 million fund to support National Parks, including the South Downs.
The South Downs National Park will benefit from £440,000 as part of the new funding which will support the operation of its Visitor Centres and the work of its park rangers.
Farmers in the National Park will also benefit from an extension of the ‘Farming in Protected Landscapes’ scheme, which helps rural farmers and businesses fund nature recovery schemes, has been expanded to March 2025.

“This new funding will help to support the conservation of our cherished countryside, and will improve accessibility to the outstanding landscape which surrounds our community.
I am pleased that the Government has put its backing behind our countryside and its farmers who do much to maintain the natural beauty of the South Downs to enjoy for generations to come.”
